Baby Steps Revisited: A Pleasant Rediscovery

Baby Steps

I was doing some computer cleaning when I came across this video...Wow! It blew my mind. I had forgotten just how interesting a signal processed piece could be with some sloggish narrative in the background. I actually put this together last spring, for a viewing at IUSouthBend Arts Codec gathering.

The images are processed with Adobe AfterEffects, then there were other effects added in Premier.
I used a rutt/etra filter and quartz composer before I added those effects. There is narrative quoted from "Looking through machine eyes" in the background audio, as well as a child's toy that I did some circuit bending work on, modifying it to play slower and off key just enough. Take a look and see.

Fresh Boxed Vision

My previous blog with video, photographs, and writings was connected to a class blog. This is a fresh incarnation, which is not going away when the class is finished. I will try to include some old videos, images, and journaled writings in with the new for awhile, eventually though, I want what's posted to be motivated from my own personally unique  perspective. The media is obviously my style, but most was motivated by assignments from professors. I want to navigate where my own curiosity draws me for awhile. Here is a video or two I produced in a video art class a semester ago.
